Green Shipyard · Hydrogen-Powered Commuting | Shipyard Commuting Unlocks "Hydrogen Mode"

Apr 6,2026

On December 29, shared hydrogen energy bicycles developed by CM Energy GreenTech, a subsidiary of CM ENERGY, were officially launched at China Merchants Shipyard Haimen Base, unlocking "hydrogen mode" for shipyard commuting.

Technology and Aesthetics Combined, Tailored to Shipyard Needs

In terms of performance, each bicycle is equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell + low-pressure solid-state hydrogen storage system. Hydrogen refilling takes less than one minute, with a range of up to 80 kilometers. The bicycle maintains stable performance even at low temperatures, making it perfectly suited for high-frequency, short-distance travel within the shipyard. In terms of appearance, the bicycles feature a custom "China Merchants Blue" color scheme. Designed specifically for the shipyard's special environment, they come with puncture-proof tires and speed-limiting settings. Through a "one-factory, one-policy" customized design, the bicycles balance practicality and safety, making campus travel more suitable and reliable.

Intelligent Technology and Multi-Layered Management for Enhanced Safety

To address the challenge of bicycle management in the shipyard, the bicycles are equipped with BeiDou high-precision positioning and electronic fences, and employ a triple management system of "credit score + blacklist + civility points," effectively preventing disorderly parking.

Intelligent Technology and Multi-Layered Management for Enhanced Safety

Core components such as the frame, fuel cell, and hydrogen storage device have all undergone rigorous safety testing. Real-time vehicle operation data is transmitted back, building a comprehensive "vehicle–data–personnel" safety protection network, with multiple layers of safety enhancement.

Green Operational Loop, Fully Loaded with Zero-Carbon Benefits

Calculations show that each bicycle reduces carbon emissions by 88 grams per kilometer, with measurable and traceable emission reduction data, directly supporting China Merchants Shipyard's ESG disclosures and carbon neutrality goals. In the future, the project plans to integrate with the shipyard's photovoltaic power generation system, using off-grid hydrogen production technology to achieve localized hydrogen supply, thus closing the loop from "green power to green hydrogen to campus hydrogen transportation."

Green Operational Loop, Fully Loaded with Zero-Carbon Benefits

The deployment of hydrogen energy bicycles in the shipyard scenario represents a low-carbon initiative for China Merchants Shipyard Haimen Base as a green factory. Going forward, both parties will also enhance employee awareness of hydrogen technology through hydrogen science education and safety training. CM ENERGY will continue to deepen cooperation with manufacturing enterprises, promoting the extension of hydrogen energy bicycles to more scenarios and supporting the zero-carbon transformation of industries.
