First Green Methanol Bunkering Completed to Support Carbon Reduction for Shipyards and Vessels

On July 25, CM Energy, in collaboration with China Merchants Heavy Industry (Jiangsu) and Towngas, successfully completed the bunkering of green methanol for an under-construction methanol-fueled vessel at China Merchants Industry Haimen Base.

The green methanol supplied by CM Energy is certified under the ISCC green methanol standard and strictly complies with the 2024 edition of ISO 6583 MMB. Stringent controls are implemented on key indicators such as methanol purity, moisture content, and chloride ion levels, ensuring the high-quality clean fuel guarantees the normal operation of the vessel’s engines. This green methanol bunkering will help green shipyards reduce carbon emissions during the construction phases of new vessels, including main engine testing and sea trials, thereby extending the carbon reduction cycle of the ships.

Furthermore, the methanol fuel supply system supporting the vessel is provided by TSC, which signifies that CM Energy has established comprehensive service capabilities encompassing clean energy equipment and green energy supply.
