On December 2, Marintec China 2025 officially opened in Shanghai. As one of the world's most influential maritime professional exhibitions, this year's event was themed "Innovation and Cooperation for Sustainable Maritime Development." 01 Dual-Carbon Digital Management Platform Launch
During the leadership tour of the exhibition, China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry officially launched its Dual-Carbon Digital Management Platform. With the deepening implementation of the "dual-carbon" strategy and the increasingly clear trend of carbon reduction in the international shipping industry, mandatory requirements for shipowners' carbon footprints are anticipated. Against this backdrop, China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry has taken the lead in the shipbuilding sector by securing two invention patents for ship product carbon footprints. Based on this, the company has built a dual-carbon digital management platform. This platform, along with its carbon monitoring system and models, has been authoritatively verified by DNV, offering shipping companies a full-chain carbon management solution.
02 China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Signs Strategic Emerging Industry Cooperation Framework Agreement with CCS
To deepen industry synergy and expand collaboration dimensions, China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry signed a Strategic Emerging Industry Cooperation Framework Agreement with the China Classification Society (CCS). Zhang Qingwen, Vice President of CCS, and Mei Xianzhi, General Manager of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties. The signing ceremony was witnessed by leaders including Li Ling, Vice Mayor of Nantong City; Zhao Yan, President of CCS; and Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry.

03 China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry Signs Strategic Cooperation Agreement with Bureau Veritas
Chen Biao, Vice President of Bureau Veritas (BV) China, and Liu Jiancheng, Chief Engineer of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry, signed a Strategic Cooperation Agreement on behalf of their respective parties. 04 Launch of Three-Segment Shaft Generator Prototype
CM Energy Intelligent Control Technology (CM Smart Control), a subsidiary of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry, jointly launched the world's first three-segment shaft generator in collaboration with Dongdian Electric Motor, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation. Leaders and guests attending the launch included Gui Qizhi, Deputy General Manager of Dongfang Electric Motor; Pan Yanjing, Chairman of Dongdian Electric Motor; Li Zhengjian, Chief Expert of the China Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers; Mei Xianzhi, General Manager of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry; Liu Jiancheng, Chief Engineer; and Yao Yedong, General Manager of CM Smart Control.

As the world's first marine shaft generator adopting a unique three-segment stator structure, this generator breaks through traditional structural limitations, enabling direct installation without modifying the original shaft system. This design is particularly suitable for ocean-going vessels such as bulk carriers and container ships where propulsion space is limited, offering a compact retrofit solution that eliminates the need for main shaft disassembly. It significantly reduces the time and economic costs of retrofitting older vessels while enhancing system maintenance convenience and operational redundancy safety.
This launch marks a breakthrough technological innovation for CM Smart Control in the field of marine power, injecting strong momentum into the green transformation of the global shipping industry.
05 CM Smart Control Receives Bureau Veritas Certification and Business Cooperation Signing
CM Smart Control obtained Bureau Veritas certification for ship cyber security qualification and signed a cooperation agreement with Bureau Veritas and Jiangsu Zhiwei. 06 Wind-Powered Cruise Ship Signing Ceremony
China Merchants Cruise Ship Manufacturing Co., Ltd. signed a construction contract with Mystic Cruises for 1+3 wind-powered cruise ships. Mario Ferreira, President of Mystic Cruises, and Mei Zhonghua, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry and General Manager of China Merchants Cruise Ship Manufacturing Co., Ltd., signed on behalf of their respective parties. The signing was witnessed by key leaders from both Mystic Cruises and China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry.

The 1+3 wind-powered cruise ships under this contract adopt a trinity new energy power system. Taking this signing as a starting point, both parties will deepen cooperation and move forward together, aiming to make this series of wind-powered cruise ships a benchmark for global green cruise ships, injecting powerful new momentum into the high-quality development of the cruise industry.
07 Marine Main Engine Centralized Procurement Agreement Signing Ceremony

Against the backdrop of continuous development in the global ship market, this signing aims to ensure the stable and timely supply of main engines, a core component, through resource integration and bulk procurement, thereby effectively shortening the shipbuilding cycle and enhancing the overall efficiency and market competitiveness of both parties.

08 Signing Ceremony for Six 342,000 DWT VLOC Orders
Qingdao Shipyard successfully signed a construction contract with German shipowner Neu Seeschiffahrt for six 342,000 DWT VLOCs. Timothy T. Jones, Chairman of Neu Seeschiffahrt, and Zheng Hehui, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry and Chairman & General Manager of Qingdao Shipyard, signed the construction contract on behalf of their respective parties. The signing ceremony was witnessed by leaders and guests including Tim Eicke, CFO of Neu Seeschiffahrt; Laurent Debart, Commercial & Decarbonisation Technology Director; Yang Jianhua, General Manager of Xiangtan Steel; Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry; Mei Xianzhi, General Manager; and Guang Ming, Chief Financial Officer.
This is the first VLOC order undertaken by Qingdao Shipyard since joining China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry. The successful landing of this project marks a new chapter for Qingdao Shipyard under its new product positioning of "tanker, container, bulk carrier" and represents a solid step towards its strategic goal of becoming "China's leading main merchant ship construction base."

The VLOCs under this contract feature advanced design and excellent performance. Green environmental protection concepts permeate the entire R&D process of the vessel, not only meeting the most stringent current international emission standards but also proactively paving the way for future deep decarbonization. The vessel adopts an advanced "methanol-ready" design. The hull structure has been specifically strengthened for future conversion to methanol dual-fuel power, with pre-set fuel tank space and piping routes. Additionally, structural interfaces have been reserved on the deck area for installing energy-saving devices such as rotor sails. These design features enable the shipowner to flexibly adopt clean energy sources such as green methanol and wind energy in the future, efficiently completing power system upgrades with minimal cost and shortest lead time to achieve emission reduction targets.
09 CM Smart Control and Yunlian Digital Sign Cooperation Framework Agreement

11 Weihai Shipyard and Huake Wuzhou Sign Strategic Cooperation Agreement
Weihai Shipyard, a subsidiary of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry, signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with Huake Wuzhou. Ou Shubo, Chief Engineer of Weihai Shipyard, and Jia Guoxing, General Manager of Huake Wuzhou, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective parties. The signing ceremony was witnessed by leaders and guests including Huang Xuefei, Chairman of Huake Wuzhou; Wu Sichuan, Chairman of China Merchants Shipbuilding Industry; Mei Xianzhi, General Manager; Zheng Hehui, Deputy General Manager and Chairman of Weihai Shipyard; and Guang Ming, Chief Financial Officer.

China Classification Society (CCS) issued an Approval in Principle (AiP) certificate for a 200-foot self-elevating drilling platform.
Bureau Veritas (BV) issued AiP certificates to CM ENERGY for its three-wing rigid sail, three hydrogen-powered vessel design schemes, a 4999GT/7500DWT electric propulsion stainless steel chemical tanker design scheme, and a 13900DWT stainless steel chemical tanker design scheme.
DNV issued multiple certifications, including AiP certificates for the UNITED RIVER polar cruise ship, aluminum alloy B-tank, zero-carbon simulation center design, a 20,000 m³ LNG bunker vessel design scheme, a joint design scheme for a 9500 CBM LEG carrier and a 6000 DWT stainless steel chemical carrier, as well as an ISO42001 certification for an artificial intelligence management system.

Lloyd's Register issued AiP certificates for a 103,000 m³ three-tank large liquefied ethane carrier design scheme and an 8000 TEU container vessel design scheme.
American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) issued AiP certificates for the ASSO TSV trenching and cable-laying vessel design scheme, FPSO, and FCU.
