Wind Assisted propulsion System is a patented three-element rigid sail system with worldwide acclaim, made from a combination of steel and composite materials. By automatically adjusting the angle and camber of the sails based on real-time signals, it generates over 2.5 times the lift compared to traditional single-wing sails, thereby maximizing aerodynamic efficiency. This technology has achieved certification from AlP and received design type approval from leading classification societies, including DNV and BV. Moreover, DNV has independently validated the product' fuel-saving capabilities through real-world vessel operations.
Designed for adaptability, Wind Assisted propulsion System offers multiple operational modes to respond to varying sailing conditions, such as berthing, navigation, and extreme weather situations. In the context of bulk carrier applications, important aspects like hatch cover movement and cargo handling equipment functionality are integral to its design. As a result, the product is positioned along the deck between cargo holds. To ensure safe clearance from hatch covers and machinery, the system can rotate into a laydown position as needed.
To date, bulk carriers equipped with the product have operated successfully, completing calls at over 20 major ports worldwide without any issues, consistently demonstrating reliable performance.
