Sail-Assisted Propulsion

WindWings® is a three-element rigid sail with patented technology from BART in the UK. The camber(shape) and angle of attack to the wind are fully adjustable to ensure the optimal configuration is always achievable, maximizing its aerodynamic performance. WindWing's performance has been independently verified by renowned fluid dynamics research institutions Wolfson Unit and Lloyds, and certified by DNV.
Product Model: 20m, 24m, 37.5m
Product Description

Sail-Assisted Propulsion is a globally patented rigid sail system featuring a three-element design, combining steel and composite materials for unmatched durability. Its real-time signal-responsive technology automatically optimizes sail angle and camber, delivering over 2.5 times greater lift than conventional single-wing sails—ensuring peak aerodynamic efficiency. The system holds AlP certification and has earned design type approval from top classification societies DNV and BV. Additionally, DNV has confirmed its fuel-saving performance through rigorous real-world vessel testing.

Engineered for adaptability, Sail-Assisted Propulsion supports multiple operational modes to accommodate diverse conditions, from routine navigation and berthing to stormy weather. For bulk carriers, its design integrates seamlessly with hatch cover operations and cargo handling equipment, allowing installation across deck spaces between holds. To prevent interference with machinery or hatch movements, the system can rotate into a secure laydown position when necessary.

For more than a year, bulk carriers equipped with the product have operated flawlessly, calling at over 20 major ports worldwide while maintaining consistent, high-performance reliability.
