37.5m windwings is a patented three-element rigid sail system with global recognition, constructed from a combination of steel and composite materials. By automatically adjusting sail angle and camber in response to real-time signals, it generates more than 2.5 times the lift of conventional single-wing sails, optimizing aerodynamic performance to the fullest. The technology has achieved certification from AlP and secured design type approval from leading classification societies DNV and BV. Moreover, DNV has independently verified the fuel-saving capabilities of the product in real-world vessel operations.
Designed for versatility, 37.5m windwings supports multiple operational modes to adapt to varying sailing conditions, including berthing, navigation, and extreme weather scenarios. In bulk carrier applications, considerations such as hatch cover movement and cargo handling equipment functionality are integral to its design. Accordingly, the product is installed along the deck between cargo holds. To maintain safe clearance from hatch covers and machinery, the system can rotate into a laydown position when required.
To date, bulk carriers fitted with the product have been successfully operational, completing calls at more than 20 major ports worldwide without issues, demonstrating consistent and reliable performance throughout.
