24m windwings is a globally patented three-element rigid sail that combines steel and composite materials in its structure. It automatically adjusts the angle and camber of the sail based on incoming signals, resulting in over 2.5 times more lift compared to traditional single-wing sails, thus maximizing aerodynamic efficiency. The product has received the AlP certificate and design type approval from DNV and BV. Additionally, the fuel-saving performance of the product on actual vessels has been verified by DNV.
The product offers multiple operating modes to accommodate diverse ship navigation, berthing, and operational conditions, even under stormy weather. When applied to bulk carriers, the opening and closing of hatch covers, as well as the operation of loading and unloading equipment, must be taken into account. As a result, the product can be installed across the deck between cargo holds. To ensure clearance with hatch covers and machinery, the product is designed to rotate into a laydown position.
To date, bulk carriers equipped with 24m windwings have been in operation for over a year, successfully docking and unloading at more than 20 major ports worldwide, consistently performing well.
